FT. WORTH, Tex. - Kyle Busch continued his torrid start to the 2008 NASCAR season by picking up the checkered flag in Saturday's Nationwide Series O'Reilly 300 at Texas Motor Speedway.

Busch piloted his Joe Gibbs Racing Toyota to the victory giving the team's No. 18 ride its first-ever Nationwide Series win.

He led 126 of the 200 laps to dominate the race and score his first series win of 2008.

"I finished second here twice but it's obvious I'd never won because I got lost trying to find Victory Lane," Busch said.

"This place is just so hard to win at, so it's really cool to be here."

Busch took the green flag in 31st position and worked through the field to lead four times. He was in front for the last 43 circuits.

“When we finally ended up taking the lead, I thought in my head, this is too good to be true,” Busch said.

Jeff Burton, Clint Bowyer, Bobby Labonte and Jamie McMurray rounded out the top five.

"I told them we made a terrible call to stay out," said Burton of the decision to not pit for tires during the last stop of the day.

"But it was the right thing to do. The fastest car won today. He was just remarkably fast. He was just rolling."

Brian Vickers, Dale Earnhardt, Jr., David Ragan, Jason Leffler and Tony Stewart completed the first five finishers.

Polesitter Kevin Harvick had his hopes of a fifth career Nationwide win at Texas thwarted in the early going when he broke an axle during a routine pit stop.

Harvick finished 34th.

The Nationwide Series now heads to Phoenix International Raceway Friday night.
