Kyle Busch picked up his second consecutive NASCAR Nationwide Series win of the season, and second-straight at Phoenix International Raceway, with a victory in Friday night's Bashas' Supermarkets 200.
Busch's crew got him in front on the final stop of the night and that was the move that enabled the Joe Gibbs Racing driver top score the season's fourth win of the season for Toyota.
Busch was able to hold off Carl Edwards on a green-white-checkered finish to earn the 13th Nationwide Series win of his career.
"These boys won the race for us on pit road," Busch said of his pit crew. "It was much easier trying to win this race up front than trying to have to pass."
Jeff Burton's crash on lap 199 forced the race into overtime but on the final restart, Edwards just didn't have enough to get around Busch for the victory.
"I didn't need that last caution. Running second is no fun," Edwards said. "It's too bad somebody had to lose a race like that."
Busch and Edwards battled each other for the final 22 laps of the race, racing side-by-side for several circuits.
"(Edwards) had a great race car there, but we kept getting those cautions so we could keep getting those two-lap jumps," Busch said. "I was good the first couple laps on restarts and he was good after about four or five."
Denny Hamlin, Kevin Harvick and David Ragan rounded out the top five.
Mike Bliss, Stephen Leicht, Clint Bowyer, David Reutimann and David Stremme completed the first ten finishers.
The NASCAR Nationwide Series now travels to Mexico City on Sunday, April 20th.
