Willie Allen makes his return to the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series this Saturday at Memphis Motorsports Park. As the reigning Rookie of the Year, Allen will mark his first start of the 2008 season with an entry in the O'Reilly 200.
Allen and Morgan-Dollar Motorsports have reunited. Allen is set to pilot the No. 46 Rascal Flatts Chevrolet for Morgan-Dollar Motorsports this weekend.
"I'm very excited about the opportunity that Morgan-Dollar and Chevy have given me this weekend," said Allen.
In his very first Craftsman Truck Series race in 2005, Allen drove for Morgan-Dollar Motorsports at Martinsville, taking home a sixth-place finish.
"I had my first career start with Morgan-Dollar a few years back. They are a top notch team and will do everything it takes to get the job done. I look forward to being back behind the wheel of a Chevy and hope we can get a good finish for everyone involved."
As a "Rockie-Top" native of Tennessee, Allen looks forward to getting back behind the wheel at one of his favorite race tracks.
"Tennessee is my home state and Memphis Motorsports Park is one of my favorite tracks. I want to thank Rascal Flatts, the City of Nashville and Lowery Plumbing for coming on board as sponsors and for their continued support of my career. We certainly couldn't do what we love to do without sponsors."
Allen can grasp his confidence going into this weekend's O'Reilly 200. In his two career starts at Memphis, Allen qualified fourth in each effort, but for a stop in victory lane, the entire team will need to pull together. If the No. 46 Rascal Flatts Chevrolet team expects a successful finish, it will require 100 percent teamwork with all the competition that consistently arises in NASCAR's truck series. Of course, Willie Allen knows that.
"The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series produces great racing from week to week and the competition is always tough. It will be really important for us to qualify up front and stay out of trouble. We need to have good pit stops all night and keep our No. 46 Chevy Silverado up front. Morgan-Dollar is an outstanding team and I feel confident that we can have a great night."
Memphis Motorsports Park will host the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for the 11th consecutive year this Saturday, June 28. Live coverage begins on SPEED at 8:30 (ET).
